OVERVIEW OF THE WORLD JURIST ASSOCIATION

The World Jurist Association was founded under the name of the World Peace Through Law Center in 1963,

The World Jurist Association was created in response to an international outcry for a free and open forum where judges, lawyers, law professors and others from around the world could work cooperatively to raise public support for the institutions that govern and enforce the administration of international law. For nearly 50 years, the WJA has worked to offer an open and dynamic forum where individuals of the legal profession, and others interested in the preservation of peace can join together to share and exchange ideas and experiences regarding the Rule of Law and its use to promote world peace.

Over the years the WJA, a non-profit, non-governmental organization, has found various ways to reach these goals. Seminars, Conferences, and publications provide ideal venues and means for experts to share their endeavors in the furtherance of international law and strengthening of national laws. Members gather at topical world conferences and Biennial Congresses to present educational and informational reports on all areas of law. Through publications and meetings, we provide current and innovative information on the developments of the field and look to expose and resolve the obstacles that prevent a peaceful development of democracy and growth.
